Description
Uro-Pro^® is a comprehensive combination of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, herbals and other nutrients, carefully formulated and specifically designed to support the healthy function of the prostate gland during the normal aging of men.

The active ingredients of Uro-Pro® have been shown to positively affect the structure and function of a man’s prostate gland.† Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens), aided by pygeum (Pygeum africanum), inhibits the conversion of testosterone to its more active form, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), via inhibition of alpha-5- reductase. Saw palmetto not only inhibits the binding of DHT to cellular receptors, but also has alpha1- adrenoceptor-inhibitory properties. Alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonism may be responsible for saw palmetto’s therapeutic effect in supporting the urinary tract during the normal aging of men.† Saw palmetto extracts have also been found to help maintain healthy levels of prostaglandins and leukotrienes which in turn support healthy processes.

Supplementation with Pygeum africanum extract, in men 50 to 75 years, significantly improved several aspects of prostate function, including nocturnal frequency, maximum flow and volume. † In addition, pygeum extract, like saw palmetto, provides maintenance of healthy prostaglandin levels. Other nutrients have also shown promise for prostate health. Phytosterols, such as those found in pumpkin seeds as well as those found in soy have been shown to support urine flow and frequency of urination. † Vitamin E and zinc antioxidant properties against oxidative damage to the prostate.
